EPD: Chipboards panels, 676 kg/m3 (Unilin B.V. Division Panels)
Unilin Chipboards are woodbased panels with 3 layers: two surface layers with a fine structure and a core layer with a coarser structure. The layers consist of wood chips that are bonded by a thermoharding glue and mixed with additives toadd applicationspecific properties such as fire retardancy or moisture resistance. For the placing on the market of the product in the European Union/European Free Trade Association (EU/EFTA) (with the exception of Switzerland) Regulation (EU) No. 305/2011 (CPR) applies. The product needs a declaration of performance according: • EN 13986:2004+A1:2015, Woodbased panels for use in construction – Characteristics, valuation of conformity and marking • EN 16368:2014, Lightweight Particleboards – Specifications • EN 312:201012, Particleboards – Specifications For the application and use the respective national provisions apply. The results in this EPD refer to the environmental impact of a raw chipboard with a salesweighted average. The composition of this product was obtained by averaging Unilins entire chipboard portfolio using the annual sales volumes as weighing factor.
