EPD: Dispersion-based facade paints, 1000-1700 kg/m3 (Sto SE & Co. KGaA)

Dispersion-based facade paints in accordance with /EN 1062- 1/. They consist of organic and inorganic binders based on synthetic, potassium silicate, and/or silicone resins, but also based on natural resins from renewable sources, inorganic and organic pigments that are used for colouring and to adjust the hiding power, mineral fillers such as chalk, water, and small amounts of processing aids (thickeners, anti-foaming agents, wetting agents, preservatives, etc.). They dry in a physical process through evaporation of the water they contain. In addition, the use of dispersion-based facade paints improves the serviceability of construction works and extends their working life. The paint with the highest environmental impact was used as the representative product to calculate the Life Cycle Assessment results. The relevant national regulations at the site of use apply when using this product. In Germany, for example, these are the /building regulations that apply within the individual federal states/ and the technical provisions based on these regulations.
