EPD: Gypsum plasters, for construction and industrial appl. (Dalsan)
Gypsum based plasters are primarily made of stucco (calcium sulphate hemihydrate). The other raw materials used are calcite, expanded perlite, lime, cellulose, retarders, starch, air-entrainers, polymer and plasticizers. Manufacturing starts with the stucco preparation (grinding, calcination and separation), followed by expanded perlite and calcite preparation for production. After receive of the gypsum mineral (CaSO4.2H2O) to the Dalsan’s plant, it is grinded and heated to remove 75% of combined water, resulting in the formation of stucco (calcium sulphate hemihydrate) (CaSO4.½H2O). It is separated depending on the size of powder and is then transferred to the silos for storage. After that, dry powder is mixed with the other raw materials. Finally, the final products are packaged for delivery. Dalsan manufactures various gypsum based construction and industrial plasters to required specifications for different applications. Reference standards applied are TS EN 13279-1 and TS EN 13279-2. ADERTEK, KARTEK, DERZTEK are packaged in polypropylene laminated bags with an average weight of 30 kg, ALÇITEK and SIVATEK with 35kg. SATENTEK is available in both Kraft bags of 15kg and polypropylene laminated bags of 30 Kg.The main products that are part of this study are: ALÇITEK (Projection Gypsum Plaster), SIVATEK (Manual Plaster with Perlite), SATENTEK (Finishing Plaster), KARTEK (Cornice Plaster), CERACAST (Industrial Plaster), DERZTEK (Jointing Compound) and finally ADERDEK (Bonding Plaster).
