EPD: Hot-dip coated steel wire, 7850 kg/m3, Crapal4, CrapalOptimum and CrapalPremium (ArcelorMittal)

This Environmental Product Declaration refers to hotdip coated steel wire, consisting of a steel substrate with metallic alloyed zinc coating: Crapal4, CrapalOptimum or CrapalPremium, applied by using a continuous hot dip galvanizing process. Crapal4 is hot-dip coated carbon steel wire with a Zinc- Aluminium coating composed of a mix of approx. 95% Zn and 5% Al. CrapalOptimum / CrapalPremium is a hot-dip coated carbon steel wire with advanced zincaluminium- magnesium alloy. This alloy, composed of a mix of approx. 95% Zn, 5% Al and <1% of Mg, is applied by a continuous hot dip galvanizing process. This chemical composition has been selected to provide an excellent corrosion protection in demanding areas. For the placing on the market of the product in the European Union/European Free Trade Association (EU/EFTA) (with the exception of Switzerland) Regulation (EU) No. 305/2011 (CPR) applies. The product needs a declaration of performance taking into consideration EN 10244-1:2009, Steel wire and wire products - Non-ferrous metallic coatings on steel wire - Part 1: General principles. For the application and use the respective national provisions apply.
