EPD: Medium density fiberboard (MDF), 732 kg/m3 (Kronospan KO Sp. z o.o.)

MDF (Medium Density Fiberboard) is engineered board produced from resin bonded wood fibers under high pressure and heat. Its high quality, homogeneous composition and high density are ideal for machining, giving it a wide range of practical applications. This board can be easily cut, drilled, milled and shaped to create a magnificent final shape, even the most intricate, while maintaining dimensional stability. It makes it possible to obtain a variety of profiles. It is a substitute for natural wood. MDF is non-load-bearing product for interior use in dry conditions. Raw MDF boards are designed for the manufacture of furniture, interior trim, wall panels, coffers, trim, furniture and joinery. Sanded to give a very fine surface, MDF is suitable for different coatings – veneering, laminating, painting and varnishing. Kronospan MDF can be used as a building material for a substitute for timber in non-load-bearing walls, ceilings, partitions etc.
