This EPD is for Xtratherm (Polyisocyanurate) PIR insulation boards: Thin-R, of thickness 25mm, 50mm, 100mm and 150mm. The R values quoted are minimum values and the EPD is calculated on this basis. The PIR boards typically comprise of primary raw materials MDI, polyol, flame retardand, pentane, with the addition of minor amounts of admixtures. Depending on intended use, the board facing elements comprise various combinations of paper & foil. The primary raw materials are mixed with various catalysts & additives and placed between two layers of facing elements. The insulation products are manufactured in accordance with BS EN 13165:2012+A2:2016 Thermal insulation products for buildings. These Xtratherm insulation products are used in solid, cavity & timber-frame walls, floor & pitched roof insulation applications.
