EPD: Rubber insulation, 42 kg/m3, Class 1 (Armacell Asia Pte Ltd)

ArmaFlex refers to a family of lightweight, high-tech and flexible elastomeric foam (FEF) that features an insulating closed-cell structure for continuous energy saving and condensation control purposes. The combination of very low thermal conductivity and extremely high resistance to water vapour transmission prevents long-term energy losses and water vapour ingress and reduces the risk of corrosion under insulation. FEFs made of cross-linked elastomer are supplied as sheets, tubes and shaped pieces. Although products with self-adhesive backings/closures are available, these variations are not included in the study. ArmaPhonic is an open-cell sound absorber that offers additional barrier performance and both vibration damping and de-coupling properties. ArmaPhonic S/H and nine ArmaFlex insulation products are included in this LCA study, namely ArmaFlex Class 0, ArmaFlex Class 0 Plus, ArmaFlex Class 1, ArmaFlex C1G, ArmaFlex AirDuct, ArmaFlex FRV, ArmaFlex Shield CX, ArmaFlex DS, AP ArmaFlex
