EPD: Silicone resin renders, 1250-1900 kg/m3 (Sto SE & Co. KGaA)
Silicone resin renders in accordance with standard /EN 15824/ are factory-manufactured, paste-form mixtures made of one or more water-based polymer dispersions, silicone resins, mineral fillers, water, and additions. They are solidified by means of drying and the creation of a film on the polymer binder and silicone resin to form coatings with a render-like appearance. As a rule, they are preserved for the duration of storage against bacteria, yeast, and fungi. They can also be equipped with film preservatives to protect their own coat and surface against algae and fungi. The range of the composition and the properties were defined by the manufacturers of dispersion- bound external renders and internal plasters from the specialist group for render & decor in the Verband der deutschen Lack- und Druckfarbenindustrie e.V. (VdL). This Environmental Product Declaration declares a representative worst-case composition for silicone resin renders. With regard to placing on the market in the EU/EFTA, Regulation (EU) No 305/2011 of 9 March 2011 applies. For base coats (reinforcement outdoors), a declaration of performance, taking into account /EN 15824:2017/, Specifications for external renders and internal plasters based on organic binders, must be created and the CE marking applied.
