EPD: Steel mesh reinforcement for masonry joints, Murfor® Compact (Bekaert)
Bekaert is a global producer of steel wire reinforcement solutions for a wide range of applications. Murfor Compact® is a steel-based reinforcement solution covered by this EPD and is produced in the manufacturing plant located at Hlohovec, Slovakia. Murfor® Compact is a Bed joint reinforcement used in horizontal masonry joints, with mortar or glue. Murfor® Compact is a wire mesh –ladder type, provided on rolls. The mesh contains multiple wire steel cords in longitudinal direction. The cords are kept on their right position by an interwoven glass roving crosswire. Around each longitudinal steel cord, a PP yarn is stitched to connect the steel cords with the glass roving and to increase adherence with mortar or glue. A coating on the mesh generates form stability and holds the mesh stuck on the roll.
