With Gerdau’s Hot-Rolled Rebar, rolled from continuous cast billets, customers have the ability to choose the products best meeting their construction requirements, from dowel bars and mine anchor bolts, to coil and straight rebar, as well as epoxy-coated rebar and a proprietary zinc and polymer coated rebar (ZBAR) for added corrosion resistance. Gerdau rebar is manufactured from recycled steel, demonstrating the company’s commitment to environmentally- responsible steel production. This Environmental Product Declaration is for 1 metric ton of fabricated Carbon Steel Rebar or Wire Rod produced by Gerdau in Jacksonville, Florida. Carbon Steel Rebar and Wire Rod is manufactured from steel scrap, melted in an Electric Arc Furnace (EAF) followed by hot rolling, and by transport to Gerdau fabrication shops and fabrication.
