EPD: XPS insulation, (incl. A5 installation and B1 use phase impacts), RSI = 1 m2K/W, Lambda = 0.025 W/mK, 25.3 mm, 0.681 kg/m2, Lambda=0.00253 W/(m.K), Styrofoam (Dupont)

This EPD is for representative products derived from DuPont’s line of ThermaxTM products produced at the Pennsauken, New Jersey facility. The line of products under review include: ThermaxTM CI, ThermaxTM Heavy Duty, ThermaxTM Light Duty, ThermaxTM Metal Building Board, ThermaxTM Sheathing, ThermaxTM White Finish, and ThermaxTM XARMORTM (ci) Exterior Insulation. DuPont’s ThermaxTM insulation primarily consists of polyisocyanurate foam. Additionally, all of the products under review are lined with films or facers that help prevent water and water vapor intrusion into the insulation foam, meaning less potential for mold and mildew in the building envelope. There are several advantages to DuPont insulation. All of DuPontTM ThermaxTM polyisocyanurate insulation products offer consistently high, long-term thermal resistance to reduce energy costs, exceptional fire protection, and a wide variety of sizes and facers to meet today’s design demands.
